If you walk into church on a weekday, don’t be surprised if you find Pastor Brad singing and jiving to a few bars of a hymn or a praise song.  With his boundless energy and deeply caring nature, Pastor Brad has been the pastor at St. Matthew since 2005.  He has encouraged many and continues to say that this is truly “The Place for You.”  Before serving St. Matthew, Pastor Cusson served as pastor at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Denver, CO.  A native of Southern California, Pastor is glad to be back where the weather is warm and snow only happens in Tahoe.  In his free moments, Pastor enjoys spending time with his wife, Jane, and his three children, Sarah, Jeff, and James.  He says that he is blessed to be part of such a welcoming group of people at St. Matthew who understand our mission together to reach out with the love of Jesus Christ in word and deed. A 2008 graduate of Concordia University in Irvine, California, Kelsey is absolutely thrilled to be serving God’s people at St. Matthew.  Originally from Gilbert, Arizona, Kelsey loves writing music, being outdoorsy, and cooking.  Beginning August 1, she will be joining St. Matthew’s staff as a Director of Christian Education (DCE) intern.  Kelsey will be working primarily with junior high through college-aged students, but she will also enrich the St. Matthew family by being a part of contemporary worship, family ministry, and the many facets of youth ministry.  With her engaging joy, determined attitude, and heart for the Lord and for people, there is no doubt Kelsey will meet the challenges and joys head on and rejoice in the blessings of the Lord.  Contact her at: kelsey_dce@hotmail.com.

Even though Annette Phillips joined the St. Matthew staff a little less than a year ago, she has already managed to keep the office organized and business running smoothly.  As an administrative assistant, she welcomes visitors and helps in the day-to-day tasks of the church.  Before becoming an administrative assistant at St. Matthew, Annette worked for over 35 years at United Airlines, spending her last 12 years working at the ticket office.  She enjoys gardening, home decorating, and traveling; Annette also revels in the time she gets to spend with her husband, Jim, and her children and grandchild.
